Allison Hinckley, PhD
SENIOR PRINCIPAL
Allison Hinckley joined Overture as a Senior Principal in 2024. Allison is a chemical engineer who has worked at the intersection of technical innovation and climate for over 15 years. Prior to Overture, Allison was the lead investor in climate tech, materials/manufacturing, and computing at Fine Structure Ventures, a $400M deep tech fund backed by the parent company of Fidelity Investments. At FSV, Allison invested in VEIR, Nitricity, Femtosense, Osmoses, Sepion Technologies, Quaise Energy, Finwave Semiconductor, and Feon Energy. Before becoming an investor, Allison worked at climate tech startups as a team lead, individual contributor, and consultant, developing commercial solutions for companies targeting advanced nuclear, indoor farming, next-gen HVAC, and biochar. Her academic work has spanned electrochemistry, photovoltaics, advanced polymers, nanostructured carbon, and hybrid materials, as well as thermal, chemical, mechanical, and electrical system design and assembly.
Allison holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Stanford, an MPhil in Micro- and Nanotechnology Enterprise from the University of Cambridge, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from MIT. She was a Gates-Cambridge Scholar and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Allison is a former NCAA Division I rower and now enjoys hiking with her dogs in NY and skiing wherever snow still exists.
